Ideas for Putting Your Baby's Name on the Wall

The name on the wall is often the first piece that stays in a baby's room. Before choosing the letters, it's worth thinking about three things: where they will go, how big they need to be and which font tells the right story.

1. Above the cot

The classic spot. The name sits at the centre of the photos and gives the room a focal point. Letters of 10 cm (M) or 15 cm (L) work well here. Leave about 30 to 40 cm between the top of the cot and the letters.

2. On the bedroom door

A discreet piece at adult eye level. Letters of 5 cm (S) are enough. If you prefer a single piece, a name plate does it all at once.

3. On the wall opposite the cot

For those who want the name big. Letters of 20 cm (XL) with a short name have presence without feeling heavy. With long names, L is usually more balanced.

4. A word instead of the name

It doesn't have to be the name. A short word like dream, calm or home also works, and stays with the child for more years.

Which font to choose

The configurator has 18 fonts. Three directions that work well in a nursery:

  • Serif (Fraunces, Playfair): elegant and timeless, grows with the child.
  • Rounded (Fredoka, Nunito): soft and friendly, good for colourful rooms.
  • Script (Pacifico, Great Vibes): more romantic, best with short names so it reads well.

Colour

If the room already has a lot of colour, pick a neutral tone like white or grey. If the room is light, the name can be the accent: pink, aqua green or light blue add warmth without tiring the eye.

How it goes on

Each letter has double-sided tape on the back. Clean the wall, position and press for a few seconds. No drilling, no damage to the wall.
